ABOUT SIOBHAN GRAY

Coming from a medical background, Siobhan initially began her career in Dentistry, qualifying in Dental Hygiene at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff in 1992, working in both NHS and private practice.

Due to the very nature of her profession, Siobhan herself experienced episodes of lower back pain and as a result began her search for an exercise regime that would not only offer controlled and safe movement but also provide strength and support for the spine.

After extensive research of the various disciplines, it was the Pilates method that appeared to find the perfect balance between strength and flexibility.

Having practiced Pilates for over 10 years, Siobhan then went on to complete 2 years of intensive training in London qualifying as an Advanced Pilates Instructor in 2009.

She then continued with an additional 18 months training to specialise in Lower Back Pain and in 2012 gained accreditation as a Level 4 Lower Back Pain Specialist and Registered BackCare® Professional.

Siobhan established Brewood Pilates in January 2010 and currently has over 100 clients, teaching matwork and reformer classes at all levels and abilities, including private 1:1 tuition for more specific individual requirements or injury rehabilitation.

She also receives referrals from GP’s, Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and Spinal Surgeons, offering clients with non-specific lower back pain a route onto the Back4Good® programme.

Her continuing professional development has included studies in other areas of interest including Osteoporosis and Breast Cancer Rehabilitation. She is also looking to expand her teaching into the field of Mental Health and Neurological disorders.
